First of all, the “Capitol Riot” of January 6, 2021, was NOT the worst incident that has happened at the US Capitol. In fact, the history of violence at the US Capitol is more extensive than one might think. For the past two years, the mainstream media and the federal government have pushed the narrative that the events of January 6 were “incidents of domestic terrorism.” The media and government have even labeled the day as an “insurrection.” The hyperbole is remarkable considering the true history and facts of this event and of other events at that location. Additionally, as the long-withheld government surveillance video slowly drips out, the shady narrative becomes even less accurate.
Let’s get a grip on the January 6 story and remember the context of the incidents leading up to this embellished event.
During the previous year, 2020, Washington DC experienced massive protests by leftist organizations that included violent physical attacks of Trump supporters and arson at historic churches.
Capitol police and uniformed Secret Service officers were attacked repeatedly on numerous occasions by armed and masked leftists. Yet, all this violence by democrat supporters gets swept under the rug and gets blown off by the mainstream media. Even the Washington elites ignore these violent events in exchange for the embellished and exaggerated actions of the January 6th protesters.
To support this analysis of truth, let’s look at a few of the notable cases in the history of violent incidents at the US Capitol. These were not the only incidents, just some notable ones:
* August 24, 1814, during the mostly forgotten War of 1812, British Forces raided Washington DC and set fire to the (still under construction) US Capitol building. The building was not a total loss thanks to a sudden summer thunderstorm that put out the fire.
* January 30, 1835, an insane painter named Richard Lawrence attempted to shoot and assassinate President Andrew Jackson on East Portico of the US Capitol.
* May 22, 1856, Representative Preston Brooks (D), of South Carolina, battered Senator Charles Sumner (R), of Massachusetts, on the Senate floor inside the US Capitol with a wooden cane.
* June 14, 1866, Unconditional Union Party Representative Lovell Harrison Rousseau, of Kentucky, pummeled Republican Josiah Bushnell Grinnel, of Iowa, with an iron cane handle on the East Portico of the US Capitol building.
* March 1, 1954, five US House Representatives (2 republicans & 3 democrats) were shot inside the US Capitol, on the House of Representative floor. The shooters were four radical Communist members of the Puerto Rican Nationalist Party (FALN).
* March 1, 1971, the leftist domestic terrorist organization Weather Underground, set a dynamite bomb in a bathroom one floor below the Senate chamber. This explosion caused substantial damage inside the US Capitol building.
* November 7, 1983, a spinoff group of the leftist domestic terrorist organization Weather Underground, called the May 19th Communist Organization, detonated a bomb in the US Capitol building’s North Wing which blew out a wall and the door off of the Senate Majority leader’s office.
The hundreds of individuals that protested on January 6, 2021, did not shoot anyone. The protesters did not plant any bombs in the building or on the Capitol grounds. There was a false report that a police officer had been beaten with a fire extinguisher. That allegation was determined to be a complete fabrication.
For a point of reference,
Let’s take a quick look at the January 6 incident. As of this writing, more new video is slowly coming out every day showing the lack of destructive actions or violence by the January 6 protesters. New video is also showing the United States Capitol Police opening the doors for the protesters to enter the Capitol building.
Now, let’s consider the actual violence and casualties that occurred on January 6, 2021.
Killed: Unarmed protester and US Air Force Veteran Ashli Babbitt, age 35. She was shot in the neck while attempting to climb through a door window leading to a hallway deep within the US Capitol building. Just prior to being murdered she calmly speaks with Capitol police officers. Two antifa types follow her and start breaking the door window. She was murdered by Capitol Police Lt. Michael Byrd, who was in plain clothes. Byrd shot Babbitt despite the fact that three Uniformed Capitol Police officers were standing on her side of the door and at least four heavily armed and uniformed Capitol Police SWAT officers were moving with the crowd just a few steps behind her. Obviously, they didn’t see her as a threat worthy of lethal force as Byrd did.
Killed/Died: Roseanne Boyland, age 34. Police bodycam video shows her and other protesters being dragged away after the Capitol Police advanced their skirmish line to push unarmed protesters back. Boyland fell or was knocked down to the ground. Her official cause of death according to the DC medical examiner was reported to be “accident from acute amphetamine intoxication,” despite video showing her knocked down by USCP.
Died: Kevin Greeson age 55. Heart Attack outside the US Capitol. Greeson may have been near a USCP flashbang or teargas munition. His death was determined to be from natural causes. Not Suspicious.
Died after the protests, but the death has been blamed on the protest by the media:
Benjamin Phillips age 50. Stroke. Natural. Not Suspicious.
Although the highly politicized, and Democrat led, January 6 Commission claimed that police officers died on January 6, that claim is a complete lie. In fact, the committee blamed the death of USCP officer Brian D. Sicknick, age 42 on the actions of protesters. However, Sicknick died due to a stroke caused by an arterial blood clot at the base of the brain stem. Sicknick’s passing was ruled natural, not Suspicious.
None of the January 6 protesters that have been arrested have been charged with any crimes related to any of these 5 deaths. It’s also important to note that United States Capitol Police Lieutenant Michael Byrd, walked away from killing unarmed Ashli Babbitt.
In just about any other circumstance, anywhere in the United States, it would be EXTREMELY unlikely for any law enforcement officer to be excused and/or be exonerated of any discipline, civil liability or criminal charges after murdering an unarmed trespasser.
While it is true that there was a very large crowd outside of the Capitol, there was minimal if any violence committed by the thousands of protesters present. As the newly released video comes out, after two years of government suppression, it becomes more and more clear, that the minimal acts of violence occurring on that day, were committed by a small group of individuals and multiple locations. The main offense of the day was property damage. This is not nearly on the level of the damage and violence that had been occurring by leftists – for months – leading up to January 6 protests.
Common sense would quickly conclude that a crowd the size of the January 6 protests, in a true insurrection or riot, would surely have been capable of totally destroying the building and the grounds. However, the damage was minimal, nothing was blown up or set on fire and Capitol Police were seen having very casual and civil conversation with the several protesters. Some Capitol Police even escorted protesters through the building!
Clearly, the January 6, 2021, protest at the Capitol was obviously a large protest, but it pales in comparison to the history of violence at the US Capitol. That stated, this incident was not a true “riot” and definitely much less violent than other recent “insurrections.” American citizens are protected and have a RIGHT to assemble and peacefully protest the government.
It’s time that we place the incidents of January 6, 2021 into a proper context. We need to ask ourselves this question: If the mainstream media and government officials will lie to us about what we can see with our own eyes, what else will they lie to us about?
